Braun Oral B Electric Toothbrush Heads – My No.1 Choice…

/ by

Braun oral b electric toothbrush heads

You must of heard dentists saying to replace your brushes every 3 months. Well it’s the same for electric toothbrushes. But unlike manual toothbrushes which you throw away, you only need to get the brush head for your electric brush. I mean if you replaced an electric toothbrush every 3 months i would think your either a millionaire or just plain stupid.

So today i want to go through the Braun oral b electric toothbrush heads for your Oral b electric toothbrush. It can be quite hard choosing which ones are suitable and also spotting and counterfeits that are being sold. This guide will equip you with the information you need to make an informed purchasing decision, so carry on reading…

Oral B Brush Heads Explained

We want to explain the various brush heads available to you in detail to make sure you choose right one for your personal needs. There are 6 main brush heads available on the market:

  • Floss ActionBraun oral b electric toothbrush heads

This brush head is designed for deep cleaning and has an oval shaped head as you can see to the right. The big difference between this head and the other ones is the 4 yellow bristles.

These are known as micropulse bristles and they help give the head more stiffness which in turn helps to clean inbetween teeth and the gum lines.

It is the best plaque removing brush head we have come across and should be a real contendor for people who have spaces inbetween their teeth.

  • Cross Action

This brush head is best suited to the daily clean mode but it doesn’t matter too much as all the cleaning modes wll do the job sfficiently.

The main difference between this head are the bristles which are angled at 16 degrees as you can see below. Oral B state that this criss crossing of bristles at an angle gives a wider cleaning surface area and so most of the tooth will get cleaned.

It’s also a mix of soft and hard bristles which people have said is a good combination as it cleaned really well without being too harsh on the gums.

  • Pro White

This brush head as you can tell by it’s name is focused on giving you a whiter smile. It does this through it’s design which is very similar to the floss action brush head but in the middle you will find a rubber polishing cup. It’s main job is to give the tooth a nice buffer and shine, keeping the teeth nice and white.

We would say use this brush occasionally just to maintain the white smile becasue when it actually comes to cleaning the teeth, the other brush heads do a superior job at removing plaque and food debris.

  • Trizone

This brush head looks quite different to the others, it reminds you of a manual toothbrush head. There’s 3 parts to it: the white bristles, the light blue and the dark blue bristles.

The white and the lighter blue bristles move back and forth to clean the teeth. The dark blue bristles will pulsate giving you an all round clean. This head is best used with the daily clean mode.

If you are someone who doesn’t like the rotating brush heads then this could be for you. Other users have also found this brush to be more gentle on their teeth and it gives users more choice which is great on Oral B’s part.

  • Sensitive Clean

This is one of the smaller brush heads going around and in comparison to other heads, it’s bristle alignemnt is much flatter across. As the name suggests it’s primary focus is to be gentle on the teeth and gums for people who have discomfort.

It’s designed to keep a nice consistant cleaning motion across the teeth and gum lines. The only criticism would be it’s flat across bristle arrangement does not adapt to the tooth’s shape as well as some of the other cupped ones do.

  • Precision clean

This brush head has the ability to remove 5x more plaque and is one of the smaller heads on the market. You have different bristles of different lengths that cup the tooth and get inbetween them and along the gum lines. It’s actually the best at cleaning along the gum lines according to Oral B.

How Often Do Brush Heads Need Replacing?

The reccommended period for changing a toothbrush head is every 3 months. This is a general consesus among the community within the dentistry field. You might be asking “My brush head still looks the same and it’s been 3 months, sure the colour of the bristles might have aged overtime but it’s still good, right?”

This might be true but the changes to the bristles are very subtle and you don’t want to keep continuing as it could start to damage teeth rather than cleaning them. Just make sure when it comes to the 3 month period, you don’t see any significant wear and tear and make sure to monitor the health of your teeth.

Another thing that i forgot to mention is that the colour on the bristles are indicators, in other words the bristles when you first use them will be fuller in colour but overtime this colour will start to fade. This can be your guide to tell you when to start thinking about replacing your brush heads.

Counterfiet Brush Heads – How Do I Spot Them?

Like everything else, brush heads cannot escape this problem either. there are many knock off products being sold under the disguise of the real thing. There are some tell tale signs that you can notice to help you spot a fake:counterfeit oral b toothbrush heads

  • Is it being supplied by a trustworthy seller
  • Is the price too good to be true
  • Is the packaging in english
  • Colours and inks are weak with poor alignment and seals

The most imprtant thing is if there isn’t a referance number on the brush head packaging… It’s most likely a fake and if the oral b logo can be easily scrathced off, you my friend have a fake on your hands.

That’s not to say that the counterfeits will be completely useless but in general their quality will be below par and they will tend to break very easily. You might aswell buy the real thing as they will last you longer and save you money in the long run.

Where Can I Buy The Brush Heads…

The most trusted retailer of 2017 and 2018 was and is AMAZON. It is used by millions of people everyday and has it’s own refund policy so if you are dissatisfied with your purchase you are eligible to return it.

The brush heads that are currently selling like hot fire are: Oral B Braun compatible replacement brush heads

They cost $16.99 at the moment with over 800 reviews and an average star rating of 4.5 out 5, so you know these are legite. Included in the pack are:

  • 4 Floss Action Heads
  • 4 Cross Action Heads
  • 4 Pro White Heads

I personally like this because you get a variety of choice and all these brush heads are really good at cleaning your teeth, which is the main concern here.

I hope we have helped you out with distinguishing between different brush heads and their uses and hopefully this will enable you to make an informed decision on what to go for, depending on your specific problem areas.

Oral B Toothbrushes Sale Now On For Christmas!

/ by

It’s that time of the year where shopping frenzy is at it’s highest and for good reason. It’s Christmas and everyone’s out to get the best products at discounted prices.

Today i will be going through the best oral b toothbrushes of 2017 and how they compare against one another so you have a better idea of which one will be best for you or as a gift for someone. After all the oral b toothbrushes sale is now on.

Lets begin:

5. Oral B Black Pro 1000

This is one of the basic models but don’t be fooled it is on the list because it is effective and works, SIMPLE.

It looks good, feels comfortable in the hand, cleans effectively and has a decent battery life. Everything that is expected of a electric toothbrush.

The toothbrush is great for the average user but if you are someone who has sensitive gums or are in need of advanced dental help then this toothbrush is not for you.

Key Features:

  • Removes upto 300% more plaque vs manual toothbrushes
  • 1 cleaning mode
  • In hand sensor – tells you every 30 seconds when to switch to different areas of your mouth
  • Rechargeable battery

  1. Price – A good value entry level toothbrush that gets the job done. It will ease you into the change from manual toothbrushes. Priced at $34.99
  2. Timer – A built in timer that tells you when to change between areas of your mouth. Excellent feature as we all tend to neglect certain areas (me included)
  3. 1 cleaning mode – No complicated settings to choose from, just turn on and start brushing. Perfect for a busy lifestyle.

  1. Battery life – upto 7 days usage time is not good compared to some of the other models.
  2. No pressure sensor – this was one of the main deal breakers for me personally. There is nothing to tell you weather you are brushing too hard or not which could damage teeth enamel in the long run.
  3. 1 cleaning mode – I put this in the pros however for some people this can be a negative point. It means there is no variety or setting to choose from if you have other underlying issues such as sensitive teeth etc.

Good entry level brush to get you into the world of electric cleaning. Easy to use and simple features make it a quick 2 minute job.

Price: $34.99

4. Oral B Pro 6000 SmartSeries

This electric toothbrush is in some ways a big step up in terms of technology and features from the oral b 1000.

It offers a very good all round cleaning experience, has a good battery life and Bluetooth connectivity. More features means it can be used for a wide variety of issues.

Key Features

  • Multifunctional 360 smartring visible from every angle while brushing. It lets you see feedback from the pressure sensor, brushing timer and bluetooth connection.
  • Removes 100% more plaque than manual toothbrushes
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • 5 cleaning modes (daily clean, gum care, sensitive, whitening, pro clean)

  1. Multiple cleaning modes – this is one of the main selling points about the brush. No matter what type of dental problem you have, one of the 5 cleaning modes will do the job.
  2. Battery life – A change in ion lithium batteries means an improved battery usage time of 18 days.
  3. Pressure sensor – this features alerts you when you are using too much force on your teeth. A red light will start to flash alerting you to reduce pressure.
  4. 16 degree angle – the cross action head is designed for cleaning tooth by tooth and it also gets in between them to get rid of more plaque.

  1. Bluetooth connectivity – This is a double edged sword, some people will love it but others will see it as a gimmick and a waste of time. There’s no doubting though that this is a great concept that has the ability to enhance your experience.
  2. Light too bright – Some customers mentioned that the light on the brush head is too bright. This is especially a problem at night time when you are brushing in a dim room, the light will irritate the eyes. This however is an issue for a small number of people so it shouldn’t discourage you from researching the brush further if it seems right for you.

A good all round brush that has features to suit everyone’s needs and a good battery life will ensure long term usability. Not really for kids under 8 years old due to the advanced technology.

Price: $112.53

3. Oral B 8000 SmartSeries

This toothbrush is a step up from the previous brushes that have been mentioned and it comes with a bit more contents. Weather it cleans better is another matter but lets see what it has to offer:

Key Features:

  • Position detection system which uses your smartphone for facial recognition to help you know where you have brushed. Never miss a spot again.
  • New pro clean mode offering more rotations per minute (3000) for optimum plaque removal
  • Clean timer with quadspacer
  • Pressure sensor that automatically slows brush speed to protect gums from over brushing
  • Smart travel case lets you charge both your phone and brush at the same time

  1. 6 cleaning modes – More options means that you are all covered when it comes to any particular area that you are concerned about. From sensitive mode to whitening mode you will be happy with the results. Also good if you are sharing the brush handle as each person can be catered for.
  2. Pressure sensor – This is an excellent essential feature, the brush will detect if you are using too much force and will turn the inbuilt sensor red to warn you and at the same time will automatically slow the brush speed down to protect your teeth. In my opinion this technology should be standard with all toothbrushes. It is that great.
  3. Battery life – Not as good as the phillips sonicare brushes but with a 12 day usage time it is better than some of the other oral b toothbrushes.
  4. Travel case – A great addition for the regular traveller. It keeps the brush safe and avoids any potential breakage.

  1. Price – It isn’t cheap and i’m sure you are not surprised. $139.95 is alot for a toothbrush but when considering what you are getting for the price it is quite reasonable. If you know you will be using all the features than it makes it well worth it. If however you are not interested in the extra features then other cheaper brushes will be more suited for you.
  2. App and position detection technology – No doubt that this technology is helpful and encourages you to maximise your dental health. However it is time consuming to initially get it set up and seems like a long process for a 2 minute brushing time. You must be really excited and passionate about your teeth to get any use out of it.

This is an excellent toothbrush that caters for everyone and it comes with alot of extra features that previous models dont have such as 3 brush heads for a more varied experience. Some of the digital features like app detection may not be for everyone and it is on the higher end of the price range. It’s a good upgrade version if you want something extra or could be a nice Christmas gift for someone.

Price: $139.95

2. Oral B Pro 5000 SmartSeries

oral b toothbrushes sale

This toothbrush is used by me and it has not let me down yet and hopefully it will continue to give me great looking teeth for a long time to come yet. I have written a full review on this and also have a video review.

Full Review: Oral B 5000

Video  Review: Oral B 5000 Unpacking And Review

Key Features:

  • Comes with a wireless smart guide to assist in getting a well balanced clean
  • Built in pressure sensor and LED notification light
  • Rechargeable
  • has a battery status icon
  • 5 customized brushing modes (daily clean, deep clean, sensitive, massage, polish)

  1. Battery life – upto 16 days usage time makes this one of the best brushes for usability.
  2. Design  – A solid design which feels good in the hand and very comfortable to use.
  3. Cleaning modes – This is available on other ranges aswell and is great for individuals who need more than 1 aspect of their mouth cleaning.
  4. Pressure sensor – This is an essential feature, the brush will detect if you are using too much force and will turn the inbuilt sensor red to warn you.

  1. Battery status – It’s hard to know what the battery level percentage is as there is no detailed feedback
  2. Setting up cleaning modes – The modes cannot be switched until the brush is turned on, this makes it hard to remember the sequences of the different modes
  3. Bluetooth connectivity – As with the other brushes, this feature will be good for some and a waste of time for others. In my opinion though, this feature is here to stay weather you like it or not.

This is an excellent brush which again caters for most people and their problems with the different cleaning modes. It is the cheapest model which comes with bluetooth connectivity and lasts a long time. A solid all round brush good for yourself or as a present for someone you care about.

Price: $92.74

1. Oral B Pro 7000 SmartSeries

This electric toothbrush has been a number one seller on amazon and is currently their choice. It has a wide variety of features and contents that make it great value for money. If i didn’t have the oral b 5000 i would be the owner of the 7000 model. It is exceptional.

Key Features:

  • It has a rechargeable battery that guarantees you 40 minutes of usage time.
  • Built with 6 cleaning modes: daily clean, gum care, sensitive, whitening, deep clean and  tongue cleaner.
  • A visible pressure sensor which indicates a signal on how hard you are using the toothbrush.
  • It has a wireless smart guide which helps you maximise your brushing routine.
  • It has a 3D cleaning oscillate, rotate and pulsate that break up and remove more plaque than an ordinary toothbrush.

  1. 6 Cleaning modes – alot of options which caters for different users.
  2. Timed clean – A visual display in the form of the wireless smart guide will let you know when to change the quadrant and also when your 2 minutes are up.
  3. Pressure sensor –  A sensor on the brush will illuminate red if you are brushing too vigorously. It encourages you to lessen the pressure for a better clean.
  4. Premium travel case – wherever you go you can be assured that your brush will be safe from any damage that might otherwise happen.

  1. There have been complaints that the toothbrush power cuts off and resumes when in use which kind of disrupts the brushing sequence. this however has only been noted by very few people.
  2. It cannot be used by children below 3 years of age due to the electric technology.
  3. It is a little bulky and thick at the handle so if you have small hands it can be a bit awkward but with time you will get use to it.

Bottom line:

It’s the top of the range model at a relatively low price…

Dentist recommended

Comes with loads of accessories and wireless capabilities which i’m sure you will love

Makes brushing more fun and leaves your teeth in tip top condition.

Price: $105.38

Final Thoughts

For me these are the top 5 toothbrushes of 2017 and i base that on my experience, other peoples reviews and looking at all the features vs the cost of the brushes. Nothing else comes close to these.

If you asked me the question on which one i would buy, i would say the oral b 7000, just because of the value it provides at a decent price. I look at it more from a investment point of view rather than a cost. Your teeth will be in much greater condition once you start using electric toothbrushes.

If you have any other toothbrushes that you think should be in the list then please leave a comment below. I’m sure you might disagree with some of my choices but i think that’s the whole point of this. We want to buy the best electric toothbrushes and a good discussion will lead us to this.

Have a great day and a happy Christmas 🙂

Foreo issa toothbrush review – It’s Overrated!

/ by

I have recently been blighted by pictures and Ads about the Foreo Issa Toothbrush and have decided to give my opinion on this brush, see what all the fuss is about.

What Is Foreo Issa Toothbrush?

foreo issa toothbrush review

Foreo is a Swedish multinational brand founded in 2013. It is a beauty brand producing skin care products and bespoke electric toothbrushes.

The company has won numerous awards and is very forward thinking when it comes to product design as you can see from the brush above.

It’s a cross between electric and manual toothbrush.

Lets not wait any longer and get straight into the Foreo issa toothbrush review!

Who Is Foreo Issa For

At first glance this toothbrush seems to come across as very simple and aimed at the younger generation of hipsters, but don’t be fooled….

It has some excellent features which makes it suitable for any one who has sensitive teeth and gums. This is because it has silicone bristles which are very smooth and soft to the touch.

Whats more remarkable is the antibacterial silicone heads only need changing once a year compared to 3 months for other electric toothbrush brands.

What Other Key Features Does It Have

  • Built in timer – this lets you keep track of the brushing time. This is important because the majority of people brush nowhere near the recommended 2 minutes.
  • Quick charge time – each 1 hour charge time will last upto 365 uses according to foreo
  • 8 intensity settings  – The settings can be adjusted so you are using the most comfortable speed for you.

  1. The number 1 feature is the design of the brush, it’s very unique and trendy and attracts alot of attention.
  2. The material is unique to this brush only. it’s high quality PBT polymer and silicone offers a soft touch which is easy on the gums.
  3. Battery life is pretty good with a single charge lasting a year.

  1. Large brush head is quite hard to fit into your mouth and around the back of the teeth. conclusion is you will be bound to miss some spots.
  2. Design however fantastic it is, will not be for everyone. some people like the more sophisticated clean look that the oral b possesses

And Finally, this is the big one….. PRICE!

This brush is so overpriced for what it actually is and compared to other similar priced electric toothbrushes it has less features warranting a price tag of $149.00.

I have read many reviews from other people and they all say the same thing: It’s a good toothbrush but too expensive and i will agree with them.

There are cheaper electric toothbrushes out there which have a higher power output with loads more features under $100. Take for example the Oral B 5000 which is a solid brush for anyone looking for the next step in their mouth hygiene journey.

I might be a bit bias because i own the oral b 5000 but it really is a good all rounder, thats why i recommend it.

That’s enough of me talking about my love for oral b, lets get back to the Foreo Issa and read some actual reviews left by customers……

What Do Other People Think

Lets take a look at the good things people have to say:

“I am very pleased with the ISSA. I just had a dental cleaning with great results. I always clean my teeth very carefully, because I have so much money invested in them. Despite the fact that I’ve had great dental cleaning check-ups before, my hygienist said that the ISSA also produced great results. I am impressed with the bristles. So far they have never lost their shape or strength!” Published by Anonymous

“I bought the FOREO toothbrush to replace an old Philips Sonicare toothbrush. It is much lighter than the sonicare. It is used the same way as regular toothbrush. I found it to be equally effective with a better form factor” Published by Shu Chea

Like i said for some people this brush is great and works like a charm but for others it’s a nightmare. Lets take a look at some bad things people are saying:

“Purchased this for my wife for Christmas 2016. It lasted for about 3 months. It never did carry a charge more than just a few days. And, then ceased to charge at all. I was so disgusted at myself for paying this much money for a toothbrush, that I had been too embarrassed to write a review. But, then I realised that it could prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did. DON’T FALL FOR THE SLEAK DESIGN. This is a completely inferior product. Purchase a Braun or Oral-B instead” Published by Amazon customer

“The rod broke while brushing my teeth !!! WTF is going on here? not even a month of use …” Published by Maxime Chicherie

This is the general consensus, that the brush is overpriced and many people have stated it has broken in half not a year after buying it. Maybe it’s a ploy for the company to have it break routinely so you have to keep buying it over and over again, although you would have to be seriously stupid to do that.

Is It A Good Long Term Investment?

I think i speak for everyone including dentists when i say that Foreo does not have the same track record of other big brands such as Oral b and Phillips Sonicare. But the quality of the finished product cannot be questioned.

The silicone material gives it great grip and feels better than holding plastic in your hands and it’s completely water resistant.

It comes with a 2 year warranty but whats great is the 10 year quality guarantee they offer. What this means is, if a defect occurs on your Foreo brush after the initial 2 year period but within the 10 year quality guarantee you will able able to get 50% off a new product.

This clearly shows the company is really focused on customer satisfaction and firmly believes in their product.

Whats My Verdict

Although it has some excellent features mentioned above, i am not sold on the Foreo. The main reason being the price is too much especially compared to some of it’s competitors which are priced lower and provide more features.

The other thing that sways me away is the amount of negative reviews this brush has on amazon. 21% are 1 star reviews and only 42% are 5 stars. The average is 3 stars which makes it adequate.

I will stick with the more trusted brands such as Oral b and Phillips sonicare and because most of their products have on average a rating of 4 – 5 stars.

Best Electric Toothbrush For Kids With Braces – A Must Have!

/ by

People often ask me, is there a toothbrush designed for use with braces and if there is, which one is the best.

My answer is: yes there is a brush that has been designed for use with braces and i intend to give you all the information necessary for you to make a decision on weather it is right for your kids.

With braces, oral hygiene is more important than ever. That’s because braces have tiny spaces where food particles and plaque get trapped, and insufficient cleaning while wearing braces can cause enamel staining and tooth decay around brackets or bands.

Why Electric Toothbrushes?

Superior cleaning and plaque removal are one of the main selling factors that make Electric toothbrushes far superior than manual ones. If your kids have braces it is quite hard to perfect the technique, but with electric brushes on hand, you dont have to worry as they clean all those little spaces in your mouth easily and efficiently for you.

They aren’t a gimmick either as some people have said. I say this because they are recommended by top dentists around the world and time after time studies have been carried out and the conclusion is that they remove far more plaque (upto 90%) and dirt from teeth than manual brushes.

What should make you even more excited is the fact that there are customized cleaning modes on these brushes that make them an excellent choice for people with braces.

With that being said, lets talk about my number 1 Best electric toothbrush for kids with braces….

Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean

best electric toothbrush for kids with braces

The great thing about Philips toothbrushes is they contain sonic technology which makes all their brushes suitable for braces.

There are oral B toothbrushes out there which are great if you have braces but not all of them have this ability which is why i recommend Philips sonicare range on this particular topic…

And out of the sonicare range i highly recommend the diamond clean.

It’s one of the top of the range toothbrushes with a price tag of $189.95 which some would argue is on the high side but in my opinion it is well worth it.

Why Is It Worth It – What Features Will I Get

  • 5 Cleaning modes

I guess this feature is expected of all next generation toothbrushes but lets see which cleaning modes are available:

Clean mode is your standard mode that will deliver an exceptional 2 minute cleaning experience.

White mode will give you 2 minutes of surface stain removal plus a 30 second burst to brighten and polish front teeth.

Sensitive mode will gently brush your gums and teeth to reduce irritation.

Gum care mode is basically the clean mode but an additional minute of gently massaging and stimulating the gums.

Deep clean mode will give you 3 minutes of deep cleaning that tackles those hard to reach spots  and any trouble areas.

Any toothbrush that has multiple cleaning modes is great for people with braces as you can get a different clean each time and eventually one will feel the most comfortable so then you can use that mode for your braces every time.

  • Wireless charging

This is a funky feature that i like very much. it’s unique to the DiamondClean and basically you get a glass holder which you put the toothbrush in and like magic it will start charging automatically. This is thanks to the conduction technology. The glass can also double up as a mouth rinser once you remove the base.

The rechargeable battery lasts upto 3 weeks on a full charge (42 uses) which is excellent.

How do i know if the battery is low?

There is a battery indicator light on the toothbrush which will tell you when the brush needs charging. the light will start illuminating.

You also get the standard plug socket charging for on the go situations or you can charge directly from the travel case through a USB cable via a laptop. The choice is yours!

  • 2 Brush Heads Included

Diamond clean brush head is great for getting that white smile. they say it can whiten teeth in just a week, although i would take that with a pinch of salt. It will though remove stains from the teeth overtime.

Adaptive clean brush heads are specifically designed for that deep clean and plaque removal. they are proven to reduce gingivitis by 100% compared with regular toothbrushes. You can’t go wrong with this brush head which is why it’s included with the package.

Will My Kid Be Able To Use This Brush

The sonicare diamond clean is not suitable for babies or toddlers. It can however be used by children 8 years and over. But for the first couple of uses you should supervise them to make sure they are brushing correctly. Once you are satisfied they know how to use the brush you can let them carry on by themselves.

I am sure they will find brushing teeth no longer a chore but rather a fun activity. Keep that in mind.

What Are Other Customers Saying

Most customers buy this brush on Amazon and the majority leave reviews. Reviews are your best friend when making a purchasing decision. What i want to do is give you a couple of good reviews left by customers and a couple of bad reviews.

this will put things in perspective and will give you a better idea as to how the DiamondClean compares.

The following are all verified purchases

Good Reviews

“Charing glass system is nice. The varying stages are good when you start out.
The timer is good as it is surprising how long 2 minutes is.” Published by R. Bailey

“This toothbrush is amazing. I’m so happy that I made this investment. It holds a charge for a long time and it comes with a few different brush heads to get you started. I like how the brush makes a sound when it’s time to move the brush to a new section of your mouth and shuts off automatically.” Published by Sean M

Bad Reviews

“Worked great for a couple weeks and now it’s very loud even after changing. This is my second Sonicare Diamond toothbrush and my first one lasted well over two years, but this one has been very disappointing. This product is marketed as being one of the more quiet toothbrushes, however this doesn’t seem to be the case. It works great and looks good, but it definitely is not quiet.” Published by Carla Schae

“paid $185 for this toothbrush and it has not lasted 6 months. Coming apart.” Published by David Mac.

What i am trying to get across is the fact that every product will have positives and negatives surrounding them. Take my example: I brought an oral b 5000 for myself and it was great and i still have it. There are reviews for that which are bad, but for me the good overpowered the bad which is why i brought it.

Thats exactly the same for this toothbrush with 83% of people giving it a 4+ star rating and only 17% giving it a 2 or less stars.

This tells me the Diamond sonicare clean is 100% legitimate

best electric toothbrush for kids with braces

Any Cheaper Alternatives That I Should Consider

The one i would recommend is under $100, well actually $99.96 and is the Philips Sonicare Easy Clean Sonic Electric Toothbrush.

This brush also features Sonicare’s patented sonic technology, It’s dynamic cleaning action drives fluid between teeth and along the gum lines. It comes with 1 pro results brush head, 1 charger base and a hygienic travel cap.

And like the Sonicare diamond clean it is also proven to be safe on orthodontics, dental work, veneers, implant material, and sensitive teeth.

If you don’t have the money to spend nearly $190 on a toothbrush then the easy clean mid range brush is the cheaper alternative which is great for kids with braces.

Final Verdict

The Sonicare diamond clean is the toothbrush for people with braces, no doubt about that. It comes with various features as you would expect from a top of the range electric toothbrush and once you show your kids  how to use it, you will be happy knowing the braces on their teeth are clean and safe.

If you have the money then Sonicare Diamond Clean Is for you (or your kids)

I hope you have found this article helpful, I have tried my best to give you enough information to make a decision. If you have any questions or queries, or even a complaint please leave a comment and i will get back to you.

Keep Smiling 🙂

Buy Electric Toothbrushes Online – It’s the Only Way

With the modern age that we live in, more and more people are buying products online, that can only mean one thing. It’s Better!

Especially when it comes to electronic and digital products such as electric toothbrushes. there is a variety of choices that you can make unlike in stores where they only sell a electric toothbrushes online

That’s the NUMBER 1 reason people Buy Electric Toothbrushes Online. They can choose from a wide selection that suits their needs because there are electric toothbrushes out there designed for specific problems. these range from but are not limited to:

  • Receding gums
  • People with Braces
  • Teeth whitening
  • For kids
  • For babies

Whats So Good About Online Shopping?

Number 1# reason: you can check REVIEWS before you make a decision

This is an absolute gem because you might be browsing for a toothbrush and come across one that you like very much. You then decide to add it to your basket but before you press buy you have a little look at the reviews and they are all indicating that you should stay away from this item. It’s no good.

See now you know that this toothbrush is not very good and you can start searching for other similar products which have good reviews. Not only does this save you time it also saves you the hassle of returning the item in the first place. Everyone’s happy

Remember: Reviews are your Best friend when making a purchasing decision

Another good reason to buy online is the option to:

Sort With Filters

this lets you shop with different custom preferences. For example you might be looking for a Toothbrush that is under $100 and comes in the colour black or white or pink or orange or red or blue or grey, i think you get the idea. Set your preference and you will be shown only the items you want.

The Third reason is:

More Time To Think Before You buy:

Electric toothbrushes are becoming more advanced in technology and the functions they provide. The last thing you want to do is make a rash 10 second decision.

Shopping in-store is a bit trickier because you have to make a decision right there and then and there will be a sales team that will try and pressurize you to go ahead with the purchase.

Most people nowadays go online and read through reviews and look at product descriptions. Then they go in-store to buy the specific product. This is a good idea and i recommend it but…

Why go in store and buy the electric toothbrush when you have already found it online and most likely at a cheaper price. Add to the fact the the toothbrushes will be packaged and not on display so you won’t even be able to see it in front of you or get a feel for it.

Buying online gives you that ease and personal space to browse through different brushes and come to a satisfying conclusion, all be it that it took a few days but you will know you have made the correct decision.

Pair this reason with number 1 and you can’t go wrong!

Where’s The Best Place To Buy Electric Toothbrushes:

buy electric toothbrushes online

My number one choice would be amazon. i have brought many things from their website over the last few years and never once had an issue with them. They have:

  • Huge customer base
  • Credibility and trust
  • Excellent support
  • Constantly updating and evolving
  • Returning items is so easy and simple

I brought the Oral B 5000 from amazon and had no issue whatsoever with the company. The toothbrush is still working fine and is in good working order. The only thing is the battery gets drained a bit quicker nowadays, but i have had it for a long time now so that is to be expected.

Another customer brought one after reading one of my reviews and made a video showing it in action which put a smile on my face. They gave me permission to post the video on my site, So here it is: ==> Oral b 5000 video – Unpacking and Reviewing.

I brought the 5000 pro but the great thing is YOU dont have to (i recommend it though), you can go and find other toothbrushes on amazon that you like and buy that instead. There’s a huge variety to choose from.

Just click the button below and start browsing:

Any Negatives To Buying Electric Toothbrushes Online?

There isn’t anything particularly dangerous abut buying products online as long as you do your research and read the terms of conditions. Every online retailer will have a slightly different way of functioning and their returns policy may differ so make sure you read the small print.

That’s all there is for me to say on this subject matter, i hope you have been helped by this post and hopefully it’s made your decision about buying online alot easier.

If you have any feedback please get in touch by leaving a comment and i will be sure to help you out.

Keep Smiling 🙂

Oral B 5000 Video – Unpacking and Using It

/ by

I wrote a review on the Oral B 5000 Electric Toothbrush a while ago and to my surprise someone who brought it after reading the review made a video to showcase their experience with it. I was very happy and asked them permission to put the videos here on my site.

They agreed and so without further ado, Here is the oral b 5000 video:

I’m so happy that Alex enjoyed her purchase and i’m not surprised as the pro 5000 is still one of the best brushes on the market and i have one myself and never looked back.

To read the full review please head on over to my other page: Oral B 5000 Full Review|Recommend

I think Alex likes reviewing products because she decided to make a follow up video to see how she is finding the adjustment to electric toothbrushes from manual toothbrushes.

Here is the second video:

I think what these videos do is give us all an insight into what the oral b pro 5000 is all about and how it works in real life.

What Makes Electric Toothbrushes So Unique…

It’s all about the oscillation technology which makes electric brushes far superior than regular brushing. The brush can rotate up to 40000 times per minute which scrubs away all the dirt and plaque from the teeth whereas manual brushes don’t rotate and are often used wrongly by people i.e scrubbing too harshly which could cause the enamel to wear away

Any Alternatives?

I guess there are other toothbrushes on the market that are also good such as the Oral B 7000 but everyone has their own favourite.

The thing with the oral b 5000 is that it’s a good entry level toothbrush that contains smart technology and lasts for a very long time.

Currently available on Amazon for $97.97

I hope these videos have helped you make a decision about weather or not to go for the plunge and try out electric toothbrushes.

Have a good day and Keep Smiling 🙂

Best Electric Toothbrush For Gum Disease – There Isn’t One!

/ by

First of all let me ask you something…

Your searching for a toothbrush that will help with your gum problems. That tells me straight away that your oral hygiene is not up to standard and you should go to your dentist before you think about buying Specific toothbrushes for your problem.

In my humble opinion there is no Best Electric Toothbrush for gum disease.

Any good quality electric toothbrush will do the trick. The only exception is if your gum disease is so severe it has progressed onto periodontal disease.

The picture below is how your gums and teeth should be looking:

best electric toothbrush for gum disease

Do I Have Gum Disease?

Well first of all, lets talk about the different types there are:

  • Gingivitis –  Affects only the gums, the tissue that surrounds the teeth.

If you have pink firm gums that fit nicely around your teeth and dont bleed when you brush them, then good news for you: You dont have gum disease!

On the other hand if your gums are dark red, swollen and painful when you touch them. Also when you brush them they start to bleed: You my friend have gum disease.

You dont want this to continue otherwise your darkest days will be ahead of you because of:

  • Periodontitis –  Causes inflammation of the gums. spreads below the gums to damage the best electric toothbrush for gum diseasetissues and bones that support the teeth.

FUN FACT: It is one of the most common human diseases.

Do you have gums that easily pull away from the teeth?

Or pus coming out of your gums?

Or even teeth becoming loose?

If you answered yes to any of these or all of them, then its your lucky day: You have Periodontitis.

You need to get your dental hygiene in order, otherwise you will lose your teeth faster than candy floss.

If you want to look into the intricate details of gum disease and the various symptoms and how it is diagnosed, you can go and visit WebMD.

Can I Reverse The Effects Of Gum Disease?

When it comes to Gingivitis, there is always a way to get your teeth back to a healthy state but only if you take heed and act upon the advice i have given on numerous posts on this site.

If you don’t you will be facing Periodontitis and let me tell you something:

It Ain’t Reversible!…

because you will lose the support structures around the teeth such as the bones that hold them in place and these are permanent features. At best they can only be halted by surgery and even then you teeth might not be the same again.

Just follow the advice i have given on my the other post: Top Tips For Healthier Teeth and you will be alright. I guarantee it!

Will An Electric Toothbrush Help With My Gum Disease?

The best electric toothbrush for gum disease is any brush that you use.

best electric toothbrush for gum disease

Its not about specific toothbrushes that can get rid of gum disease, it’s more about the technique and how you brush your teeth that will determine if you will have a beautiful healthy smile.

One thing for sure is that Electric toothbrushes have been proven in numerous studies to be more beneficial than manual ones.

Lets see why this is:

  1. More strokes per minute – much more strokes than manual brushes which sort of has a polishing effect on your teeth. End result = more debris removed from the teeth.
  2. Less pressure on teeth – Using a standard brush people tend to brush their teeth hard like it will get rid of stains and what not. In fact it will do the opposite and make your teeth and gums bleed. Electric toothbrushes do all the work for you, Just guide it along your teeth.
  3. Easier on the wrist – for old people and people suffering with dexterity issues, electric brushes are much easier to use because they have bigger handles to get a better grip and they do all the work for you.

The only negatives are that they require electricity and need to be charged regularly to be effective. But everyone has a power supply nowadays so this isn’t much of an issue in my eyes.

As i mentioned at the start of this article, the idea of there being a “one toothbrush fits all” is simply bonkers.

Different people have different needs and when it comes to gum disease it’s simply about the overall oral care that you need to follow.

Yes, an electric toothbrush will help to reduce plaque and remove more debris but it wont get rid of gum disease on it’s own, IT WILL ONLY AID.

You also need to have other things in your arsenal such as: dental floss, mouthwash, fluoride toothpaste and most importantly, regular dentist check-ups.

The only toothbrushes I recommend are:

Oral B Pro 5000 – $119.99

Phillips Sonicare Flexcare Plus – $149.99

Both do an excellent job of cleaning out your mouth which in turn will help reduce your gum inflammation.

I hope i have given you a good base to work from to eliminate gum disease. If you have any questions please leave a comment and i will get back to you straight away.

Keep Smiling 🙂

The Wireless smartguide might seem as a bit of a gimmick, but actually it can transform the way you brush your teeth forever as it helps you clean your teeth to an excellent standard for both children and adults.

The display shows the cleaning mode you have selected and has a timer when the brush is in use, a star rating and of course the face.

For example: if you take a 2 minute normal clean, the timer will count upto the 2 minutes while the quadrant graphic changes colour after each 30 second phase. after each 30 seconds the brush beeps an audio signal for you to change your quadrant position.

If you are doing it properly there will be a smiley face or if you are not brushing properly, the dreaded sad face will appear which means you are a failure and need to try again.

Another cool thing is that the brush will flash red if you are brushing too hard and will automatically adjust the speed of oscillation to help protect your teeth.

Lets begin with the pros:

  • It has 6 cleaning mode which makes it suitable for all kinds of people and with any kind of condition such as gingivitis etc.

  • The smart wireless guide ensures that you use the toothbrush properly, with its portable timer that shows you how long you have brushed, the cleaning mode you are using and how well you have been brushing.
  • It comes with all necessary equipment that you will need. No need to buy separate things for it.

And Now The Inevitable Cons:

  • The price is on the higher side at $130, however Amazon have oral B Coupons for 7000 to reduce the purchasing price to $119.97. If you want to take the opportunity then go and buy yours now before the coupon expires:  ==> ORAL B COUPON
  • There have been complaints that the toothbrush power cuts off and resumes when in use which kind of disrupt the brushing sequence.
  • It cannot be used by children below 3 years of age.
  • It is a little bulky and thick at the handle.

Electric Toothbrush vs Manual, Which Is Better…

/ by

Does Deep Teeth Cleaning Require An Electric Toothbrush?

Life use to be so simple back in the olden times, but ever since technology has exploded into our faces, things are getting more sophisticated.

My personal opinion is, technology is excellent when it comes to aiding us in making our lives better. Electric toothbrushes have evolved dramatically over the past 5 years with oral B leading the way.

Ask any dentist the manual toothbrush vs electric question and all of them will say ”if you have the money to invest then Electric toothbrush is your best bet” and i agree. According to a study done by Sheffield university, rotating brushes remove 11% more plaque than manual toothbrushes, and also reduce other gum related problems such as gingivitis.

manual toothbrush vs electric

Has that convinced you… No?

Lets Continue….

Brushing Techniques.

It’s pretty simple but the amount of people that don’t do it is ridiculous. You must hold the brush at a 45 degree angle when brushing (manual toothbrush) starting at the gum line using gentle circular motion, move your brush up and down each tooth.

Theres alot to take in with manual toothbrushes and most people are in a rush in the morning trying to get to work and what not they completely forget how to brush.

This is where electric toothbrushes come to the fore as you would say. The oral b range have oscillating-rotating technology and do all the grunt work for you and give you that deep teeth cleaning experience…

The most common mistake people make is use electric toothbrushes like a normal one, all you need to do is simply place the brush head against each individual tooth and let the sexy oscillation and pulsations do the rest, YOUR TEETH WILL THANK YOU.

They also come with built in timers so you know when to stop, which is super handy as i myself tended to finish well under 2 minutes when i use to have a manual toothbrush.

Cost comparison (Electric Toothbrush vs Manual)

You dont have to be Einstein to figure this one out. You can pick up a manual toothbrush for a couple of dollars from big retailer. That in it self should tell you something.

Electric toothbrushes are expensive but there are a wide variety of choice depending on your needs. They tend to range from $30 – $200.

I personally use the Oral B 5000 because it’s a well rounded toothbrush which covers most of the requirements that most people need.

You can read the full review here ==> ORAL B PRO 5000

Or You can watch a Video of it in action: Oral B 5000 Unpacking And Using It

I knew it was a strong choice looking at the reviews on Amazon,

  • over 2000 reviews
  • 4.5 stars out of 5
  • Oral B technology (THE BEST) in my opinion

My final words will be to ask you to invest in an electric toothbrush today and you will thank me for years to come,

Sure they are a bit expensive but i dont get why people complain when their probably out every day buying McDonald’s or KFC, guzzling it down with a fizzy drink. That probably costs around $100 a month alone and it’s bad for your teeth.

Do You Think It Is About Time You Switched Over To Using An Electric Toothbrush?

Let me give you some advantages of using Electric Toothbrushes over manual ones just to clear your brain of any confusion:

  1. They provide better plaque removal due to their rotating oscillation action.
  2. Electric toothbrushes provide the cleaning action for you rather than you having to do all the work.
  3. Technology and the features that electric toothbrushes come with nowadays has revolutionized the way we brush and now even you can get that dentist smile you always dreamed of.
  4.  With manual toothbrushes people tend to put too much pressure on the teeth which overtime can wear away the enamel. Electric toothbrushes protect you from this problem.

Toothbrushing Facts and Figures:

  • 75% of people do not change their toothbrush after every 3 months (like your supposed to)
  • 25% of children have tooth decay by the time they start school.
  • The average brushing time is 90 seconds rather than the recommended 2 minutes.
  • 31% of adults have tooth decay.

The above figures just shows the problem that the world is facing in regards to teeth hygiene and maintenance.

Even if you make small changes in your routine you will come out with better and stronger teeth and overtime it people will notice the difference.

Essential Electric Toothbrush Tips You Must Follow!

  • Use Fluoride toothpaste, it keeps the teeth healthy and keeps the enamel strong.
  • Make sure you brush all parts of your mouth, on the sides, underneath, tongue and cheeks to make sure you get rid of all the debris that have been present while you have been eating.
  • Use gentle pressure when brushing as vigorous brushing will do more damage than good.
  • Do not rinse your mouth after you have brushed, just spit the excess toothpaste out. This is because the fluoride will still be present, keeping your mouth cleaner and fresher for longer. If you want you can rinse the mouth with mouthwash as that will contain fluoride also.
